It is our core mission to transform our research findings and technologies into market-relevant industrial applications. Research Mission
Our research mission is to achieve pioneering research breakthroughs, which we then leverage to unlock the vast potential of AI for industrial applications in engineering, robotics, construction, design, automation, process control, optimization, and more. This is fueled by our firm belief that the AI revolution in industry will only occur at scale and in combination with domain expertise.
Therefore, at NXAI, we are building foundation models and focus on two main pillars. Firstly, in AI4Simulation we aim to construct data-driven AI models that will change the way of industrial simulations and, consequently, the approach to core engineering and design tasks. The second focus is centered around our flagship project xLSTM based on the ideas of the Long Short-Term Memory that led to a European Large Language Model (LLM). We are building scalable and effective generalist AI models where we leverage our three decades of experience in sequence modeling. For both pillars, AI4Simulation and xLSTM, we are dedicated to building AI systems that are aligned with the ethical challenges that arise in industrial applications. We have recruited world-leading experts – from Deep Learning, computational fluid dynamics, numerical simulations, engineering and adjacent fields.
We are building AI systems that everybody can trust by tackling ethical challenges such as algorithmic and data discrimination, violation of privacy, lack of veracity, or manipulation of human behavior. We construct AI systems that obey European values and ethics standards.

It's no coincidence that this location is Linz, which is rapidly emerging as the new AI hotspot. Our goal is to create foundational technologies that allow us to apply Artificial Intelligence in meaningful and valuable ways - and we're acquainted with the people who contribute their intelligence to these endeavors.
